II. Mint essential oil extraction method

(1) Soak peppermint leaves and flowers with an appropriate amount of solvent (such as ethanol).

(2) Filter the soaked mixture to separate the plant tissue.

(3) Evaporate the filtrate to evaporate the solvent in the residue.

(4) The oil in the residue is peppermint essential oil.

3. Pressing method

The pressing method is mainly applicable to the seed part of peppermint.

(1) Grind the peppermint seeds,

(2) Then use mechanical pressing to squeeze out the oil in the peppermint seeds to obtain peppermint oil.

The advantages of the pressing method are simple operation and high extraction efficiency, but it is only applicable to the extraction of peppermint seeds.
