Plate Centrifuges Application

Plate centrifuges (horizontal/vertical) are widely used in liquid-solid separation applications due to their compact structure, high separation efficiency, and convenient operation. They are particularly suitable for high-viscosity and fine-particle materials.  The following are the core industrial applications and technical details:

I. Application Areas (with process suitability)

1. Food and Agricultural Product Processing

Applications: Fruit juice clarification (removal of pulp fibers), starch dewatering (reducing water content of potato/corn starch to below 15%), plant protein separation (soy protein, pea protein precipitation and recovery), molasses refining (removal of sugar residue).

Parameters: Separation factor 1500-3000G, processing capacity 5-50 m³/h, material 304 stainless steel (FDA compliant).

2. Fine Chemicals and New Materials

Applications: Dye/pigment filtration (removal of unreacted raw materials), resin purification (epoxy resin, polyurethane resin deslagging), paint solid-liquid separation (removal of impurities from color paste), catalyst recovery (recovery of precious metal catalyst particles).

Parameters: Separation factor 2000-4000G, solvent-resistant filter cloth (suitable for acetone, toluene, etc.), explosion-proof design (Ex d IIB T4).

3. Pharmaceuticals and Bioengineering

Applications: Antibiotic crystal separation (penicillin, cephalosporin precipitation and recovery), traditional Chinese medicine extract clarification (removal of herbal residue), biological fermentation liquid separation (bacterial cell recovery, enzyme preparation purification), vaccine production solid-liquid separation (sterile grade).

Parameters: Separation factor 3000-5000G, material 316L stainless steel (polished Ra≤0.8μm), compliant with GMP sterile requirements.

4. Environmental Protection and Wastewater Treatment

Applications: Industrial wastewater clarification (removal of suspended solids from chemical/electroplating wastewater), sludge dewatering (reducing water content of municipal sludge, printing and dyeing sludge to below 60%), oil-water separation (recovery of oil sludge from oily wastewater). - Key parameters: Separation factor 1200-2500G, anti-corrosion coating (PTFE or Halar), processing capacity 10-100 m³/h.

5. Oils and Essential Oils Industry

Applications: Vegetable oil refining (degumming and dewaxing of crude oil), oleoresin filtration (removal of plant residues and waxes), solid-liquid separation after essential oil extraction (recovery of distillation residue).

Parameters: Separation factor 1800-3500G, material temperature ≤80℃ (to protect heat-sensitive components), filter cloth pore size 5-20μm.

II. Selection Points

Based on material characteristics: For viscous materials, select a scraper discharge plate centrifuge (automatic discharge to prevent clogging); for sterile requirements, select a fully enclosed plate centrifuge (to prevent contamination); for fine particulate materials, select a filtration type plate centrifuge (high filtration accuracy of the filter cloth).

Based on production capacity requirements: For small-scale testing (processing capacity ≤5 m³/h), select a vertical plate centrifuge; for large-scale production (processing capacity ≥10 m³/h), select a horizontal plate centrifuge (continuous operation).
