Generally speaking, there are two main types of distillers: tower distiller and pot distiller. The biggest difference between the two is that tower distiller can distill continuously, while pot distiller can only distill in batches. Although tower distiller can improve production efficiency to a certain extent, the flavor of whiskey is obviously not as good as that of pot distiller. Therefore, when brewing malt whiskey, distilleries generally use pot distiller, while tower distiller is mostly used for brewing grain whiskey.
